A "Sound Approach" to Bring Harmony Home
For me, Music & Art Brings Out Life's Best
In the early Summer of 2013 my little sister called with astounding news: My niece was on her way into the world....
Even before she arrived in our lives that November, she changed entirely how I saw my work.
She caused me to see more deeply into the importance of approaching this project in ever more caring ways.

Making art with friends creates a time and place to connect in ways that bring more playful interaction into our lives - it's fun to do new things w/ others.
Imperfections make art better in many ways and in good company add an element of Acceptance to our lives: Making a place where criticism isn't needed allows for connection. The hope has been to then join in festivities with a broader community at seasonal events like the Tacoma Santa Parade (link) making a context to get to know others better in fun, light-hearted ways. This is the simple reason I began doing this work in the early days: To add a touch of light to our lives in Tacoma, WA, City of Destiny. In the early days we focused on the basics of life in our city, and then in 2015 we began using Stars 4 Peace to help people in need. y2112 a "Sound Learning" Model

2014 I hosted a series of events from Spring to Fall that epitomized then my intentions and hope for Stars 4 Peace.
The Victory Music community was and continues to be a personal inspiration: Their ways of life from the early days of the 60's bring something wholesome to our lives in ways I find refreshing. So I started with a food-based event where professionals spoke on the topics of the then-worsening bee crisis, on the need for accurate food labeling and other topics at the Free Range Kitchen, a cooperative on 6th Ave. Of Course there also was art - & music. |
I asked TR Stewart of the Victory Music community to play, hoping to infuse in this new approach a musical essence from the inspirational source of my own personal origin story into what I feel is the best of life in the city I call home.

The Great Reason for My Work: Art & Music Bring Love into the Home
Quality time spent with family was important in my upbringing:
Weaving this element into the fabric of what this project is all about has always been central to our work from the earliest days.
Weaving this element into the fabric of what this project is all about has always been central to our work from the earliest days.
Growing up, my little sister was the artist in our family: Her sensitive nature and thoughtful ways of parenting are for me a real inspiring force and have been part of this project as I've done my best to include in the fabric of my work with Stars 4 Peace a quality of care and mindfulness fit for my community.
There are Many More Events We've Created that We Built Using this Early Foundation:
I'll Have to Introduce Them Another Time...
Creating a firm, reliable means for supporting social causes is a true joy for me, and contributing to my community in ways I've been able to has been a joy. Since 2021 our team has continued the work we started in 2012, with important upgrades.

Nov. 13, 2016, we hosted an event to honor and hear from Adrienne Casteele of Tacoma's H.O.P.E. Victims Advocacy Foundation.
H.O.P.E. Sunday we had Adrienne speak; 3 generations of women in music played, together with 2 family men I trust & work with still.
H.O.P.E.'s work helping survivors of trauma in the home overcome their challenges has been a continuing source of inspiration for me since.
Our work supports H.O.P.E. still, and advocates the importance of contributing to organizations like this for a safer, better community.
Caring for the lives and well being of the most vulnerable in our city has an importance we feel cannot be overstated, and it is an honor for us to support them how we can.
Thank you for supporting our work with Stars 4 Peace. This is the Power of Peace to Provide
