We held our first meeting at the Star Center in March & enjoy the support of the South Tacoma Way Business District again.

​We'll build on the same footprint we had in 2025 AND a whole lot more. Also we'll be hosting Giant Peace Dove & Lighted Star Builds leading up to the event.

2025 we hosted the Tacoma Santa Parade (Al got sick, so we canceled the parade and had a Holiday Festival) & we set the precedent for a fun, family-friendly and generous event. The Skoolie Foundation gave 15k lbs of food and 2k toys to people in need.  ​Highlighting organizations like the Skoolie Foundation, we spread real hope in WA communities around the So. Puget Sound.

In our Community: Olympia's Luminary is FRI. APR 24
Stars 4 Peace & THE WALL will Reach the Region

Olympia's annual luminary is the kind of elevated spirit that inspired us to bring the luminary arts to Tacoma in 2012. 

High spirited Olympia friends celebrate Earth Day every year in April - the whole city lights up with music and art for a true regional event that draws tens of thousands to Olympia every Earth Day.

Colin Scott Reynolds Opened at Music & Heart in Wright Park in 2019, Beginning a Cycle of Support for Tacoma's At-Risk Youth

2019 Tacoma's music community came together to begin a new chapter in our city's longest-enduring music festival. 20 bands were on the ground ready to play in support of At-Risk Youth. Radio was on the ground and youth organizations like Oasis Youth Center, The Coffee Oasis, Vadis, Reach & H.O.P.E. Victims Advocacy Services were provided space.

Music & Heart in Wright Park is looking at its 6th year, supported in part by Tacoma Creates.

Today this project has bridged the divide, supplying needs with year-round donation stations around the city and an online means of contributing directly to the very organizations serving youth in our city.

THE GRAND VISION

There is a light in everyone of us, and by focusing attention on the life we share in common across our communities and neighborhoods, from our Origins we use the Stars as a token to this life we share in common. 

We continue to work with long-standing community partners along with an ever-growing community of new partnerships on Seasonal events like the Tacoma Santa Parade that happen annually. These events are great for friends and families, and all are welcome: Come as you are.

There are many styles of stars and you and yours are invited to make one for yourself - instructions are easy, styles are simple and the possibilities for how they look are endless. Make one with friends!

Our Stellar Post-Pandemic PlayBook

2021 THE WALL at Music & Heart in Wright Park Began a Work That Continues and is Ongoing, Sustained by Tacoma Communities, Stable & FUN, Supporting At-Risk Youth & Women in Need.

1st: Music & Heart
in Wright Park

2021

Combining two projects, The Wall (2017) and Music & Heart in Wright Park (2019) we started a new approach, post-pandemic, to gain quality support for at-risk youth and women recovering from trauma in the home. Following MHWP in August, we hosted Destiny Saturday in the Garden of Eatin' at the Antique Sandwich Company Sept 25. Next, we held an Stars 4 Peace workshops with the Tacoma Public Library in November, in preparation for the Annual Tacoma Santa Parade.

We provided 50 home made Star Kits to anyone desiring to be part that November, and that same month we installed a Donation Station at Marlene's Market & Deli, beginning a Season to bring quality clothes, food, games & school supplies to at-risk youth and women in need in Tacoma.

3rd: Donation Station Installed (Marlene's)

The Donation Station is a great success, and is there now 2 years later, continuing to bring in the much needed supplies for youth.

2024 we continue this approach, and have added a Donation Station at Playback Sports on 6th Ave. and in Gig Harbor at O'Looney's Irish Pub. Now, having hosted The Wall at Music & Heart in Wright Park in August, and again Destiny Saturday Sept 23, we are continuing the work of receiving, sorting and getting supplies to the youth and women they are intended for, Direct-to-Need. Now we continue in a Season of the Sacred Heart, which will be completed in collaboration with the Tacoma Maritime Museum, in concert with the Tacoma Light Trail in Jan, 2024.

Youth do not choose to live in the streets unless they come from places worse than most of us are able to imagine - this is the way many youth end up without a home. They face incomparable dangers every day, vulnerable as they are to the predatory nature of the streets. Reality for Youth is vulnerability, constant stress and imminent danger day in and day out. With far more young people on our streets than are known, youth need support in a variety of ways. Give directly to the people helping them above.

Vicci Martinez International Day of Peace Weekend Sept 22, 2012 @ The Historic Pantages Theater

 In 2012 we forged a 3-way collaboration with Olympia's Procession Luminary team and Tacoma's Fall Free For All to welcome Vicci Martinez back for her homecoming birthday show at Broadway Center's Pantages Theater after her national tour from performing on The Voice. Vicci was born on the International Day of Peace, so when we surprised her with an unforgettable assembly of illuminated sculpture (video) stars became associated with peace in Tacoma communities.

After such a cataclysmic Beginning, we decided the most stellar thing we could do was create a public project to gain important support for people in need in our city's various neighborhoods and local communities.

We have worked with many organizations helping women in transition, disadvantaged students, survivors of trauma due to abuse, returning citizens, youth w/ no shelter & more.

Your support helps more than you know.

Where are Stars, also there are smiles

Annually since 2012, Stars 4 Peace have created or collaborated in events all over Tacoma, every year, working with a long list of organizations, businesses, arts groups & like-minded people. See above: Collaborators & StarSeed Supporters. 

You will see that everywhere the Stars go, smiles also follow. It is our great joy to bring to our city a stellar expression of unity via such caring means.

2019 we began a cycle of awareness to gain support for solutions to youth with no shelter in Tacoma. We continue this work, creating well-informed content through the people serving youth at the ground level, at the critical organizations that are in touch with youth.

Now in 2024 MHWP has been awarded its 3rd consecutive Tacoma Creates grant and is well established as a Tacoma festival .

Nov 20, 2021 Stars 4 Peace hosted a Star Building Workshop w/ the Tacoma Public Library Leading Up to the 8th Annual Procession of Stars at Tacoma's Best Holiday Santa Parade.

We were asked by the Tacoma Light Trail to teach people how to make Stars in a Workshop - It Was Stellar

50 Stars were distributed to people all around the city & the Tacoma Library hosted an online-only workshop to learn how to build Star Luminaries with Stars 4 Peace

We use the Stars 4 Peace to gain important support for people in the most vulnerable situations in Tacoma. We began receiving donations at events in 2015, and in 2017 we started a city-wide clothing / food drive that Tacoma supports strongly to this day. 

What you give we make ready (wash, organize, etc) and distribute to people in need in our city's diverse communities, through the people and organizations at the ground level serving people in need. Our work facilitates their services with quality items in good care.

Vicci was born on the International Day of Peace, and when she came home from her national tour we surprised her with a star lit luminary procession, inaugurating a day our city sets aside each year to celebrate peace in our many communities.

Music in Tacoma celebrates the life we share in common across Tacoma Communities and has FREELY PROMOTED LOCAL BUSINESSES. 

Our efforts are to bring people together in a good spirit so they get into our city's culture - every year since 2012 we have been a stable presence celebrating peace in our city.
